1. Da Nang Expands Its Southern Tourism Development Area.
The People’s Committee of Da Nang City has officially issued a plan to expand key tourism development toward the southern area for the 2026–2030 period. This strategy aims to diversify the local tourism ecosystem, relieve pressure on the urban core, and promote sustainable eco-tourism. To achieve this goal, the city has identified seven priority zones focusing on unique natural assets, including coastal, riverine, rural, and historic sites. Implementation is structured into two main stages: initial infrastructure setup, community training, and essential digital tool integration during 2026–2027, followed by expanded service quality and regional connectivity from 2028 to 2030. High-tech solutions like smart digital maps, AI analytics, bilingual QR lookup codes, and ubiquitous Wi-Fi will also be deployed across destinations. In conclusion, Da Nang’s southern tourism expansion underscores its commitment to modernizing visitor experiences while preserving natural and cultural identity. This initiative promises to establish a resilient, high-quality tourism destination that drives long-term economic growth across the region.

5. Da Nang permits the conversion of crypto assets and USDT into VND at airports, golf courses, and resorts.
Da Nang has expanded Vietnam’s first regulatory sandbox framework for crypto-to-fiat transactions, allowing users to convert crypto assets such as USDT into Vietnamese Dong (VND) across 10 designated locations. Under this updated pilot program, conversion services using platforms like Basal Pay have been extended from 3 to 10 key tourist and commercial areas, including Da Nang International Airport, luxury resorts, and golf courses. The expanded scope greatly enhances payment convenience for international tourists and expats traveling between Da Nang and neighboring areas like Hoi An. To ensure financial security and regulatory compliance, strict limits are placed on conversion volumes, capping transactions at 1,000 USDT per trade and a maximum of 30,000 USDT monthly per account. This expansion marks a pioneering move by Da Nang in testing controlled digital asset solutions, fostering local tourism, and building a bridge toward modern fintech integration in Vietnam.

The plan aims to strengthen regional connectivity and position Da Nang as an international hub for finance, tourism, free trade and logistics. Ba Na is expected to become a new western growth center, with its population reaching 87,350 by 2050. Annual visitors are also projected to increase from four million currently to ten million by 2050, supporting long-term growth in tourism, services and employment.
