2. Da Nang Re-evaluates Land Price Of The Monarchy Project Of Chinese Tycoon ‘Fire’.
On August 20, 2025, the Da Nang Department of Agriculture and Environment invited consulting firms to participate in a tender to reassess land valuation for the The Monarchy residential complex in An Hải Ward, Sơn Trà District. The project, developed by Da Nang Housing Development Investment JSC and associated with ex-CEO Nguyễn Quang Trung (“Trung ‘lửa’”), includes two blocks—18 to 30 stories tall—near the Hàn River. This revaluation aims to resolve unresolved financial obligations and legal matters tied to land-use and taxation. 3. Good News For Many Residents Of Da Nang.
Da Nang is making significant strides in social housing this year. As of 2025, the city is accelerating construction and planning for a total of 15 social housing projects, aiming to deliver over 10,240 units—surpassing the national social housing targets by reaching 120.5% of the annual goal. Of these, over 1,800 units are expected to be completed and available for occupancy this year. To further support housing access, 54 new parcels of land across multiple districts—including Hòa Vang, Liên Chiểu, Cẩm Lệ, Ngũ Hành Sơn, and Sơn Trà—have been allocated for future development. These efforts are poised to improve affordable housing opportunities, especially for low-income households and industrial workers in Da Nang.

4. Developing Da Nang Downtown Into A 24/7 Nighttime Tourism Economy Hub.
On August 19, Da Nang launched the Da Nang Downtown project—a cultural, entertainment, and commercial complex with a total investment of nearly VND 80,000 billion. Developed by Sun Group, the 77-hectare project along Phan Dang Luu Boulevard features a 69-story, 408-meter tower, set to become the tallest in Central Vietnam and second tallest nationwide. The complex will include a cultural park, theater, riverside green spaces, and vibrant commercial streets, positioning itself as a 24/7 hub for tourism and the nighttime economy.
Inspired by global destinations like Clarke Quay and Marina Bay Sands, Da Nang Downtown aims to be a premier destination for shopping, leisure, and international events. City leaders see the project as a transformative milestone that will elevate Da Nang’s tourism, service industries, and global competitiveness. Alongside the Free Trade Zone and International Financial Center, it reinforces Da Nang’s vision as one of Vietnam’s most livable and investment-friendly cities.

5. Creating A Development Space With Da Nang’s Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
At the 2025 Investment Promotion Conference themed “Creating a Development Space with Da Nang’s Free Trade Zone (FTZ),” city leaders and the DSEZA outlined an ambitious plan to transform Da Nang into a global commercial hub. Drawing strong interest from domestic and international investors, the FTZ spans 1,881 hectares across seven strategically located, non-contiguous sites. It is designed to integrate manufacturing, logistics, finance, digital tech, innovation, and residential zones, with priority given to seamless connectivity to Liên Chiểu port, the international airport, rail, and highways.
The conference highlighted Da Nang’s commitment to smart, green, and investor-friendly development. Key incentives include a 5% corporate tax for 15 years, VAT exemptions, bilingual legal frameworks, long-term visas, and streamlined “one-stop” administrative services. To avoid pitfalls seen in other FTZs, the rollout will be phased—starting with a 90-hectare site in Bà Nà (set to open in August) and another in Hải Vân—ensuring sustainable, well-managed growth.
